A criteria must be used...
Hi all you folks!!! Obviously when we do research we must evaluate information we come across. We shouldn't rely on information which can be a fake. Information has to be judged first of all 'cuz quantity of information is so huge and also their quality can be low. Your research has to be fussy, it shouldn't be sketchy, if it'll be so your work will be a failure. I totally agree that the evaluation is an art; it is the most important skill we have to improve if we want that our research will be good. I have to confess you all that I rarely think about some questions which should be asked, for example, I have never thought about who is responsible for publishing the information provided by the source. When I do research I just write on "google" (I've never used "wikipedia", I don't know why, I think it's made broadly speakin') the topic I'm looking for and I keep the fingers crossed. I usually check if it's a reliable source and anything else, I know...I'm an idiot! My research should have been more accurate, I hope they'll be better. See ya

Hi! It's a good thing you don't use Wikipedia for your research! Everybody can write on it, and you usally can't trust the information you find! But what I find useful in Wikipedia is that at the end of the articles there is (or should be) a link to an official website! And that one is usually trustworthy!

Anna
Hi! I do agree with Anna. On Wikipedia we should refrain from taking everything as a gospel truth. The most useful part are those links at the bottom of the page. I think that evaluating a source depends on how much we already know about the topic we are dealing with. If we don't know much about it we have to check if the author is a dependable one.

Niko
Hi Davide!
I totally agree with Niko and Anna when they say that the most reliable parts in Wikipedia are the links on the bottom of the page. However, we know that every source on the Web must be evaluated carefully! I have never asked myself who is the responsible of the information, but always who is the author and if he provides a good bibliography.
See you on Monday,
bye

Hi!
I see you all are fans of Wikipedia! Well, I must admit that I've hardly ever used it!
As for my serches I don't do a lot of things to check the reliability of the sites. I only control if the dates are updated and if the hole site seems to be serious!!
I know, I should add some more criteria of selection!
see you on Monday, bye!
